“Around the World” is Alla Bashenko’s second book of poetry for children and her fifth book overall, it was published in April 2019. It is a travel diary of a curious and cheeky young boy named Zak, the author’s son in real life. Zak is a citizen of the world, and most of the poems in the book are based on his real family travels and adventures.

About the Book

When growing up, most of us coming from the analogue generation have have traveled around the world in our thoughts and dreams... By now we have visited many countries and continents, and these days we are joined by our indigo kids - the new generation of explorers, who have a lot to say about their impressions of the world surrounding us!

The books boasts original artwork by the talented St Petersburg based artist Katia Miloslavskaya, which is a highly creative mix of artistic styles, colours and collages with memorable images and joyfully humorous characters (many of whom are Zak’s friends in real life).
